Author Guidelines
1. Types of Manuscripts
Serayu: Journal of Multidisciplinary Community Development accepts research articles (empirical studies using qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods), policy analysis papers, theoretical reviews, and best practice case studies in the field of community development.
2. Word Limit
Research articles should be between 5,000 and 8,000 words, policy analysis between 4,000 and 6,000 words, and theoretical reviews between 5,000 and 7,000 words, including references, tables, and appendices.
3. Language and Abstract
Manuscripts may be written in either English or Indonesian. Each submission must include an abstract of 150–250 words in both English and Indonesian, followed by three to five keywords.
4. Originality and Ethics
The manuscript must be original, not previously published, and not under consideration elsewhere. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited, and all submissions will be screened using plagiarism detection software.
5. Citation Style
Authors must follow the APA 7th Edition citation style for in-text citations and the reference list. All sources cited in the text must appear in the reference list, and vice versa.
6. Manuscript Format
Submissions should be prepared in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) using Times New Roman 12-point font, 1.5 line spacing, and standard margins (2.5 cm on all sides). Pages should be numbered consecutively.
7. Title Page and Anonymity
A separate title page must include the article title, all authors' full names, affiliations, ORCID IDs (if available), and the corresponding author's email address. To ensure double-blind peer review, the main manuscript file must contain no author-identifying information.
8. Submission Process
All manuscripts must be submitted online through the journal's Open Journal System (OJS) platform. Authors need to register and log in as an author before clicking the "New Submission" button to begin the five-step submission process.
9. Peer Review and Timeline
Each submission undergoes an initial editorial screening followed by double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers. The entire review process typically takes eight to twelve weeks from the date of submission.
